Includes platform section for immediately inside the main building, but not for side platforms.

Station Masters House / Crossing Cottage

Coaling Tower

An impressively tall 'lift-and-tip' coaling tower for small to medium MPD settings. Concrete and brick construction. one side represents a wagon hoist (not working), with storage hopper and delivery shute over drive-through locomotive road on the other side.

Ash Plant

To complement the coaling tower, this structure covers the other end of the coal-burning process - disposal of the burnt ash. After being dropped from below the locomotive into the between-tracks ash pit, the ash is hoisted in containers, and dropped into waiting wagons in the drive-through road, ready for transportation to whatever unfortunate part of the country was destined to provide a home to the ash heaps.

Buildings of this basic design have been features of hundreds of small market towns all over the country for many genertions. Constructed of materials readily available in the local area, the 2-storey design combines the advantages of under-cover accommodation for market traders with secure office space for commercial transactions on the upper floor. Now mostly preserved as local museums or Tourist Information offices.

Fire Station

 Every town needs its emergency services, and during the 1950's and 60's, many cramped and out-of-date sites were replaced by modern, more spacious, purpose built complexes, with sufficient space for training and servicing facilities. This brick-built example can be expanded to a facility suitable for a larger town's needs by combining it with the extra space provided by kit B34 (conversion doors supplied).

Low-relief Hotel, Offices and Restaurant

Three buildings typical of the mixture of architectural styles that can be found side by side in any town centre, often dating from completely different times, and almost certainly no longer used for their original purpose! These are designed to be used against a flat or curved back wall, or the buildings my be separated and used as required.

Half-relief House Backs

A row of 4 terraced houses, with small enclosed back yards and out-buildings, typical of many dating from the late Victorian era in industrial towns all over the country. Ideal for track-side settings, where it would often be the case that the railway line would pass close to the rear of the dwellings. The model includes the full depth of the back half of the main roof, and the whole of the ridge-top chimney stacks.
This kit can be merged with C6 House Fronts to construct a full depth row of houses (replacement end wall supplied to avoid join line).

A row of 4 terraced houses of the same design as the backs in kit C5, with optional bay windows and small enclosed front yards leading onto the street pavement.
